I went to Staples and purchased 6 clipboards for under $8. I took the Paper Source papers out of the frames that I used on the walls of the Dupont Circle apartment this Summer with the Boyfriend. Therefore, the project really only cost me the price of the clipboards.

There is really no trick on how to make the paper fit around the clip. I made a template out of tissue paper, and then just winged it. Once I had one cut out of the patterned paper how I liked it, I traced it back onto my paper before gluing it down. That way I always had a solid template.

I used ModPodge to glue them down. I started at the clip part and smoothed and glued down. Then I applied a layer of glue over the whole thing. Small wrinkles actually smoothed themselves out as they dried. Paper Source paper is amazing, people. I really think that's why these came out so nice.

I used Command Adhesive hooks to secure them to the walls, since that didn't involve any kind of permanent holes to my apartment walls. I ordered these through my office's supply catalog, a lot cheaper than Staples. They are hung in a recess in my bedroom wall over my desk.

I really love how this turned out. I use them to store lots of bits of paper that I need to keep, but don't need to use. I plan on using them to display art work after I get some of my more decorative objects from Texas.
Clipboards, paper and Mod Podge: it's a good thing.

omg.
are you serious?
i now feel completely inadequate and ashamed of my lack of craftiness.
the clipboards are really cute. i may or may not kidnap you and make you do the same thing for my bedroom wall. only with yellow papers.
Ooh I've had this project bookmarked for awhile. It's nice seeing someone who has actually done it now. I'm thinking I might have to do it now!
I've had this project bookmarked too, ever since I saw it in the magazine. They look awesome!
